Join us for a long-overdue live event that permits us to socialize but remain safe. We’ll each enjoy our beloved marque on a drive from our respective homes to Andrew Jackson State Park (196 Andrew Jackson Park Rd, Lancaster, SC 29720).

Arriving there between 12:30 and 1:00 p.m., we’ll convene as a responsibly distanced group at our reserved picnic shelter, complete with tables. If the weather permits, and you’d rather bring along your favorite picnic blanket – go for it! Members are asked to provide their own picnic lunches and beverages. Please note that smoking and alcoholic beverages are not permitted in SC State Parks. Registration is not required for this event.

SC State Parks are open, and they do require appropriate COVID precautions – you can find their guidelines HERE. They also recommend that admission be purchased online to limit contact with park staff. THIS is the link to purchase admission. We suggest that you purchase admission the same day as our picnic, then present your receipt at the park gate for entry. Admission to the park is $3 for adults; $1.50 for SC seniors; $1 children age 6-15; age 5 & younger free. Friends and family are welcome to attend. Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet.

Admission to the park includes visiting the museum which contains Revolutionary War artifacts and artifacts related to President Jackson. There are exhibits that reveal the lifeways of South Carolina’s backcountry during the late 18th century. Discover the impact of the Revolutionary War on the local community. Gain an understanding of how being reared in this setting prepared Andrew Jackson to become our Seventh President. Museum Hours are 1 p.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday.

Once you enter the park, proceed along the park’s main road – Andrew Jackson Park Road past Museum Ln. to your right, then past Campsite Ln. on your left. You will arrive at the parking lot. Please back into your spot so we can easily admire your engine bay after our picnic.  Our reserved picnic shelter (Shelter 1) is at the end of the parking lot – you will have passed it on your left as you drove in. Look for our Section’s banner on display.

Should you become lost or get delayed, contact organizer David Thorne at 704.293.6411. We hope to see you for a casual, safely distant but social event that will still allow us to admire our Section’s wonderful vehicles!
